A collaborative approach
At Collaborative Nutrition, our approach is simple: we start by understanding what you’re experiencing—your symptoms, routines, challenges, and what’s important to you. From there, we offer clear, science-backed guidance and flexible recommendations that fit your real life.
Your plan isn’t rigid or overwhelming; it’s practical, supportive, and designed to evolve with you. The goal is to help you feel better with strategies that are sustainable, personalized, and never restrictive.

Frequently asked questions
What conditions or
concerns do you help with?
We support adults navigating a wide range of nutrition-related concerns. This includes digestive symptoms (IBS, reflux, bloating, constipation–related symptoms), chronic medical conditions (cardiovascular, metabolic, and inflammatory conditions), and anyone looking for sustainable, evidence-based nutrition support.
If you’re unsure whether we can help, you’re welcome to reach out—many clients come with questions that don’t fit neatly into a single diagnosis.
Do you take insurance? How does payment work?
We are an out-of-network provider, which means we don’t bill insurance directly. After each visit, you’ll receive a superbill you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Many clients receive at least partial reimbursement, though the amount varies depending on your plan, deductible, and whether your policy covers out-of-network medical nutrition therapy. If you’re unsure about your benefits, we can help you navigate the process. HSA/FSA can also make visits more affordable.
What can I expect at the initial session?
The initial visit is a comprehensive, conversational assessment where we take time to understand your medical history, symptoms, routines, and goals. You’ll leave with a clearer sense of how nutrition connects to your health and what’s driving your symptoms. Together, we’ll identify meaningful goals and a personalized nutrition plan tailored to your needs and daily life. Virtual appointments are available to Connecticut residents, or you’re welcome to meet in person at our Glastonbury, CT office.
What makes your approach different from other providers?
Collaborative Nutrition is grounded in evidence, empathy, and personalization. We take the time to understand your lived experience to build a plan that fits your real routines, preferences, and medical needs. Our approach is flexible, non-restrictive, and focused on adding nourishment and clarity rather than creating pressure or overwhelm. You’ll always know why a recommendation matters and how to make it work in daily life.
How do follow-up visits work, and how often will we meet?
Follow-ups are focused, supportive check-ins where we talk through what feels helpful, what feels harder, and any changes in symptoms or health. We refine your plan so it remains realistic and responsive to your current needs. Frequency depends on your goals—some people prefer biweekly support, while others come monthly or less. We’ll decide together based on what feels supportive and productive rather than stressful.
How should I prepare for my first appointment?
Once you schedule, you’ll receive intake forms through Practice Better. These forms will give me a picture of your symptoms, routines, and health background so we can use our time together effectively. If you have recent labs, imaging reports, or specialist notes, you’re welcome to upload them—but it’s not required. Our goal is to meet you exactly where you are today and build a plan that fits your real life, not an idealized version of it.
